    Demystifying the science behind targeted treatments and immunotherapies for bowel cancer

    Format: 
    This is a half-day course held in the afternoon only. It is a live, in-person event with the option of attending virtually.

    Description: In this course, Elaine provides an overview of bowel cancer biology and genetics and the science behind various treatment approaches. Treatments explained include monoclonal antibodies targeting EGFR and small molecules such as B Raf inhibitors. She describes the reason for giving checkpoint inhibitors to selected patients and mentions other treatment approaches in trials.

    Audience: This content is ideal for research nurses, clinical nurse specialists, pharmacists and clinical trials coordinators. It may also be of interest to other healthcare professionals involved in the diagnosis and treatment of people with bowel cancer.
