About Elaine Vickers PhD
Elaine provides clear, accessible and up-to-date education on cancer biology and the science behind targeted cancer treatments and cancer immunotherapy. Her goal is to unravel the complexities of cancer biology and new cancer treatments and to make these topics interesting and accessible to non-scientists.
Elaine has a degree in Medical Science, a PhD in Molecular Biology and over 20 years of experience in communicating science to a wide range of audiences.
Face-to-face teaching
Elaine is an energetic and enthusiastic presenter. She creates high quality teaching materials and is happy to travel or deliver content online.
Online education
Elaine has experience in developing, writing and presenting online education, including creating online courses and videos.
Animations
Elaine can create scripts and storyboards for professional animations aimed at patients and healthcare professionals.
How Elaine works
Elaine holds regular study days at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London that anyone can attend – see the Course Diary for details. In addition, you can work with Elaine to design the perfect training for your staff. Elaine is an expert in creating materials according to your colleagues' level of knowledge and experience.
Elaine can also help you develop and deliver online teaching. She has created interactive teaching modules and recorded over 50 videos for various clients. This includes partnering with Cancer Research UK to create a 5-week online course which attracted over 15,000 learners. Elaine also partnered with BOPA to create Let's Communicate Cancer, which is free to NHS staff and available on the elearning for healthcare website.
