Molecular Mechanisms of Targeted Treatments and Immunotherapies for Solid Tumours

Throughout this study day, Elaine will guide you through the scientific concepts that underpin many of the most prescribed targeted treatments & immunotherapies for people with solid tumours. There is also an option to attend virtually.

Treatments include a wide variety of antibody-based therapies targeting cell surface proteins and small molecules targeting various kinases and other proteins involved in cell communication. Elaine will discuss progress to date with checkpoint inhibitors and describe other forms of immunotherapy such as treatment vaccines, CAR T cells and TCR-modified T cells. She will also talk about the promise and limitations of antibody-drug conjugates such as trastuzumab deruxtecan.
