    Demystifying the science behind targeted treatments and immunotherapies for melanoma

    This is a half-day course held in the morning only. It is a live, in-person event with the option of attending virtually.

    Description: This morning, Elaine provides an up-to-date overview of the science behind targeted treatments and immunotherapies for people diagnosed with melanoma. She begins with the gene mutations that cause melanoma and describes the biology of this disease and its relationship with the immune system. She then describes various treatment approaches, such as B-Raf and MEK inhibitors and immunotherapy with checkpoint inhibitors.

    Audience: This content is ideal for research nurses, clinical nurse specialists, pharmacists and clinical trials coordinators. It may also be of interest to other healthcare professionals involved in the diagnosis and treatment of people with melanoma.
