Founder of Science Communicated Ltd, Dr Elaine Vickers delivers energetic, interactive teaching on the biology of cancer and the mechanism of action of cancer treatments.

Elaine is passionate about her subject and an expert in creating illustrations and materials that explain complex science in understandable terms.

She demystifies the science behind cancer biology and the latest cancer treatments such as kinase inhibitors, monoclonal antibodies and immunotherapies.

Through her company, Science Communicated Ltd, Elaine offers study days, webinars, online modules, seminars and keynotes on cancer biology and the science behind cancer drugs.

Elaine has a library of pre-prepared materials on many topics and she’s always happy to create bespoke materials for individual clients.

As well as delivering colourful Powerpoint presentations, Elaine also uses work sheets, exercises and group work to break up her courses. These give people an opportunity to test out their new knowledge in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Elaine is experienced in teaching people with any level of scientific or medical knowledge from cancer patients through to medical oncologists.

About Elaine



Elaine has a degree in Medical Science from the University of Birmingham and a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Manchester. She also has 20 years of experience in communicating science to a wide range of audiences.

She has worked as a science communicator for three of the UK’s leading medical research charities, including four years in the Science Information team at Cancer Research UK. In 2011 Elaine left London and the charity sector to run Science Communicated Ltd full-time and she is now based in Manchester.

When training, Elaine’s energetic and approachable style ensures that delegates not only gain new knowledge and insight, but also have a hunger to learn more.
